ChatGPT Prompts for Business Advertising: 12 for Local Ads

ChatGPT prompts for business advertising give useful ads when you paste one offer, one customer, your budget, and proof you can legally use, then ask for copy that fits each ad platform's limits. The 12 prompts below take a small business from channel choice to a two-week test. Read every claim before launch, because the model only knows what you tell it.

Give the model real facts

Generic prompts like "write me an ad for my bakery" produce generic ads. Paste the price, the deadline, what is included, your service area, and proof such as your review rating, years in business, or a guarantee as written. Tell it which channels you can run and how much you can spend, and ask it not to predict clicks or revenue. You will measure those yourself.

Platform limits matter too. Google Ads responsive search ads allow headlines up to 30 characters and descriptions up to 90 characters, so ask for a character count after each line and confirm it in the ad editor.

Strategy before copy

1. Channel pick

My business is [business], my offer is [offer], my customer is [customer], and my budget is [amount] per month. Which one or two channels fit, why, and what should I skip for now?

2. Three angles

Give me three ad angles for [offer], each tied to a different customer motive such as urgency, trust, price, or convenience, with one hook line each.

3. Offer sharpener

Here is my offer: [offer]. Rewrite it so a stranger understands what they get, what it costs, and when it ends in one sentence. List anything unclear.

Copy that fits each platform

4. Google Search headlines

Write 10 headlines of 30 characters or fewer and 4 descriptions of 90 characters or fewer for [offer] in [location], using only this proof: [proof]. Show the character count after each line.

5. Social feed ad

Write a short primary text that fits the feed preview, a longer version, a headline, and a call to action button for [offer], aimed at [customer] who is not searching yet.

6. Local flyer or mailer

Write front and back copy for a postcard advertising [offer] to homes near [area], with a headline under 8 words, three benefits, and one clear way to book.

7. Visual brief

Describe the photo for this ad, the text overlay in 6 words or fewer, and what to avoid so the image shows my real customer: [customer].

Check, test, and stay compliant

8. Landing page match

Here is my ad, [paste], and my landing page text, [paste]. List every place the page fails to match the ad promise and the fix for each.

9. Two-week test plan

With [budget] for two weeks across [channels], plan the budget split, what to test first, the metric that picks the winner, and when to pause a losing ad.

10. Results reader

Here are my ad results: [paste spend, clicks, leads, bookings by ad]. Which ad wins on cost per booking, what is too early to judge, and what should I change next?

11. Claim checker

Flag every claim in this ad copy, [paste], that needs proof or could break ad policies for a [industry] business, and give safer wording for each.

12. Competitor gap

Here are three competitor ads, [paste]. What do they all say, what does none of them say, and how can [business] own that gap honestly?

Worked example

A mobile bike repair service around Asheville had a $79 tune-up offer until November 30, a $600 monthly budget, 4.9 stars from 212 Google reviews, and a written 30-day adjustment guarantee. The flagship prompt put most of the budget on Google Search, where people already search "bike repair near me," and the rest on Meta to reach riders with a bike sitting in the garage.

It wrote 10 search headlines with character counts, all at 30 or fewer, a short and long social ad, a visual brief showing the van in a driveway, and a test plan judged on cost per booking. It also flagged that "normally $99" should stay only if the shop has really charged that price. Get the full business advertising ad set prompt.
