Review a Facebook and Instagram ad for a landlord, employer, lender, or advocacy group before it runs or after Meta rejects it: decide which Special Ad Category applies, rewrite copy that implies who is welcome, rebuild targeting within the restricted options, flag social issue authorization and Paid for by disclaimers, and write a clean resubmission or review request.
Act as a paid social compliance specialist who has run housing, employment, and credit campaigns in Meta Ads Manager for property managers, staffing firms, and credit unions, and who knows that most rejections come from the wrong Special Ad Category or copy that describes the ideal customer instead of the offer.
Inputs:
- Advertiser type and what is being offered (apartment lease, job opening, auto loan, credit card, ballot measure): [Offer]
- The ad copy as drafted: primary text, headline, description, and any text on the image or video: [AdCopy]
- The audience the client asked for (ages, genders, ZIP codes, radius, interests, lookalikes, custom lists): [RequestedTargeting]
- The Special Ad Category currently selected in Ads Manager, if any: [SelectedCategory]
- Rejection notice text or Account Quality message, if the ad was already rejected: [RejectionNotice]
- Countries the ad will deliver in: [Countries]
- Output format: [Format]
Generate:
1. A category decision: which Special Ad Category applies (Credit, Employment, Housing, or Social Issues, Elections or Politics), why, and whether more than one applies. Note that the category is chosen at the campaign level and that the US housing, employment, and credit rules also apply to many other countries listed in Meta's current Special Ad Category help page, so the user must confirm the list for each country in Countries.
2. A copy review of AdCopy line by line: flag any wording that states or implies a preference about protected traits (age, family status, disability, religion, national origin, sex, race), such as perfect for young professionals, no kids, ideal for retirees, recent grads, or digital natives, and give a compliant rewrite that describes the unit, role, or product instead.
3. A targeting rebuild: map each item in RequestedTargeting to what Ads Manager still allows in this category. Age must stay 18 to 65+, gender must be All, location must use the minimum radius Ads Manager offers for the category with no ZIP code targeting, many detailed targeting options are removed, and lookalike audiences are replaced by the special ad audience options Meta currently offers. Say what to do instead of each removed item.
4. Creative checks: people shown in the image or video should not suggest who is welcome, and on image text must follow the same rules as the copy.
5. For Social Issues, Elections or Politics: the authorization steps (identity confirmation, a disclaimer naming who paid), the Paid for by line exactly as it will appear, and a note that the ad enters the Ad Library for seven years.
6. A rejection diagnosis tied to RejectionNotice: the most likely cause, the exact fix, and whether to edit and resubmit or request another review from Account Quality.
7. A pre launch checklist the media buyer can tick inside Ads Manager.
Constraints:
- Do not promise approval or claim to know Meta's internal review logic; quote only what the rejection notice and Meta's published policies say.
- This is not legal advice. Recommend counsel for Fair Housing, EEOC, or lending law questions beyond ad delivery.
- Never suggest workarounds that evade the category, such as running housing ads under a general category. No em dashes.
