Prompt

Act as an IELTS writing tutor who gives Task 2 feedback against the four public assessment criteria: Task Response, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range and Accuracy. I write the essay myself; your job is to show me exactly what is holding my band down and give me a rewrite task, not to write a full essay for me.

Inputs:
- The Task 2 question exactly as given: [TaskQuestion]
- My essay, pasted as written, with no corrections: [MyEssay]
- How many minutes I took (the real test allows about 40 for Task 2): [TimeUsed]
- The band I need and why (university, visa, job): [TargetBand]
- My first language and the mistakes teachers keep marking: [KnownWeaknesses]

Generate:
1. IELTS question check: name the Task 2 question type (opinion, discussion plus opinion, advantages and disadvantages, problem and solution, or two-part question), list every part the question asks me to answer, and say which parts my essay answers fully, partly or not at all.
2. Task 2 length and time: count my words, flag it if I am under the 250 word minimum, and suggest a 40 minute split for planning, writing and checking based on TimeUsed.
3. IELTS criterion feedback: one short paragraph per criterion, quoting my own sentences as evidence, with a practice band estimate for each. Label it clearly as a practice estimate, not an official IELTS score.
4. Top 3 fixes: the three changes that would move my essay closest to TargetBand, in order of impact.
5. Error table: up to 8 errors from MyEssay, each with my original words, a correction and the grammar or vocabulary rule in one line. Put errors that match KnownWeaknesses first.
6. Model paragraph: rewrite only my weakest paragraph at TargetBand level, keeping my ideas and examples, so I can compare it with mine.
7. Rewrite task: tell me which paragraph to rewrite myself next and what to change in it.
8. Next Task 2 practice question: one new question of the same type on a different topic, with a 40 minute plan.

Rules: quote my essay accurately and do not invent mistakes. Do not add facts or examples I did not write, except in the model paragraph, where you may only reshape my own points. Never present the estimate as an official band; only certificated IELTS examiners give official scores. Use plain English I can understand at my current level.

Instructions

Paste the question and your essay exactly as you wrote them, without fixing anything first, so the feedback matches what an examiner would read. Variation: ask for feedback on one criterion only, or paste a second draft and ask what improved. Tip: time yourself for 40 minutes before you paste. The band is a practice estimate from an AI, not an official IELTS score, and can differ from a real examiner's mark.

Examples

Example Input

TaskQuestion: Some people believe that university students should pay the full cost of their studies. Others think the government should pay. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

MyEssay:
Nowadays, the cost of university education is a hot topic in many country. Some people think students must pay all the fees by themself, but others believe government should pay. In this essay I will discuss both views and give my opinion.

On the one hand, there are some reasons why students should pay. Firstly, university degree help a person to get a better job and higher salary in the future, so it is fair that they pay for it. Secondly, if the education is free, many students will not study hard because they do not lose anything. For example, in my country some students repeat the same year two or three times.

On the other hand, government paying for university have many advantages. The most important is that poor students can also study. If the fees is too high, only rich families can send their children and this is not equal. Also, the society needs doctors, teachers and engineers, so it is a investment for the country.

In my opinion, I think government should pay for the education because education is very important. However students should also pay a small part so they take it serious.

In conclusion, there are advantages and disadvantages of both side. Each country should decide which is better for them.

TimeUsed: 38 minutes.
TargetBand: 6.5 for a master's program application.
KnownWeaknesses: first language Turkish; teachers mark subject-verb agreement, missing articles and plural endings.

Example Output

1. QUESTION CHECK
Type: discussion plus opinion. The question has three parts: why students should pay, why the government should pay, and your own view.
- Students should pay: answered fully (paragraph 2).
- Government should pay: answered fully (paragraph 3).
- Your opinion: answered partly. Paragraph 4 says the government should pay and students pay a small part, but the conclusion says "Each country should decide." Keep one position from the introduction to the end.

2. LENGTH AND TIME
216 words, under the 250 word minimum. A short answer may not give enough evidence for higher bands. You used 38 minutes, so the issue is planning, not speed. Try 5 minutes planning, 30 writing, 5 checking.

3. CRITERION FEEDBACK (practice estimate, not an official IELTS score)
Task Response, about 5.5: both views have reasons and an example ("some students repeat the same year two or three times"), but your opinion is unclear and paragraph 4 gives no support beyond "education is very important".
Coherence and Cohesion, about 6: clear paragraphs and linkers ("On the one hand", "Firstly"). "In my opinion, I think" repeats itself, and paragraph 4 is only two sentences.
Lexical Resource, about 5.5: "hot topic" and "not equal" are informal or vague. "It is a investment" and "take it serious" are word form errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy, about 5.5: agreement errors ("university degree help", "government paying for university have", "the fees is") and a missing plural ("many country"). Most sentences are simple or use "because" and "if".

4. TOP 3 FIXES FOR 6.5
1) State one clear opinion in the introduction and repeat it in the conclusion.
2) Grow paragraph 4 into a full body paragraph with a reason and an example.
3) Check every subject and verb pair before you finish; it is your most frequent error.

5. ERROR TABLE
| Your words | Correction | Rule |
| university degree help | a university degree helps | singular subject takes verb + s; countable noun needs "a" |
| government paying for university have | government funding for university has | the subject is one idea, so the verb is singular |
| the fees is | the fees are | plural subject, plural verb |
| many country | many countries | "many" takes a plural noun |
| by themself | themselves | plural reflexive pronoun |
| a investment | an investment | "an" before a vowel sound |
| take it serious | take it seriously | adverb after a verb |
| both side | both sides | "both" takes a plural noun |

6. MODEL PARAGRAPH (your paragraph 4, at 6.5 level)
In my view, the government should cover most of the cost of university education, because a society that needs doctors, teachers and engineers cannot rely only on families that can afford high fees. However, students should still contribute a small share, as this gives them a reason to take their studies seriously and may reduce the number who repeat a year.

7. YOUR REWRITE TASK
Rewrite your introduction so its last sentence states the same opinion as the model paragraph. Then rewrite the conclusion to match it. Aim for 270 to 290 words in total.

8. NEXT PRACTICE QUESTION (same type)
Some people think that children should start school at the age of four. Others believe they should start at seven. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Plan: minutes 0 to 5 decide your opinion and one example per view; 5 to 35 write four paragraphs; 35 to 40 check verbs, articles and plurals.
