10 Flux prompts for realism written as plain prose, covering portraits, street, food, interiors, and products, plus fixes for plastic skin and fake light.

Flux Prompts for Realism: 10 Photoreal Prompts to Copy

Flux prompts for realism read like a photographer describing a shot: plain sentences about the subject, the setting, the light, the lens, and the small textures that make an image look real. Natural sentences usually give Flux more to work with than comma-separated tag lists, so the 10 prompts below are written as prose with [variables] you can swap. Each one names the light and camera, because that is where most fake-looking images go wrong.

Flux is made by Black Forest Labs; its current models include FLUX 3 Image and the FLUX.2 family. Use only photos you own or have consent for, and never make an image or video meant to pass as real footage of a real person or event.

People and portraits

1. Candid documentary portrait

A candid documentary photograph of [person, age, clothing] [doing what] in [place]. Soft [light source] light from [direction]. Shot on a 50mm lens at eye level, about two meters away, background softly blurred. Natural skin texture with visible pores and fine lines, no retouching. Realistic, unretouched, no text, no logos.

2. Window light headshot

A natural headshot of [person] sitting near a large window on a [weather] day. The window light falls from the [left or right], leaving the other side of the face in gentle shadow. 85mm lens, shoulders up, plain [color] wall behind. Real skin, slightly flyaway hair, relaxed expression. Realistic, unretouched.

3. Hands at work close-up

A close-up photograph of [person's] hands [task, for example kneading dough or tying a knot] on a [surface]. Overhead [light] light, shallow depth of field, the hands sharp and everything else soft. Visible knuckle creases, short nails, a little [flour, dust, or paint] on the skin. Realistic, no text.

Places and streets

4. Street after rain

A wide photograph of [street type] in [city type] at [time] just after rain. Wet pavement reflects [light sources]. A few blurred people with umbrellas in the distance. 35mm lens at eye level, light film grain. Any signs are blank. Realistic, no logos.

5. Lived-in interior

A photograph of a [room] in a [home type] on a [time of day]. [Light] comes through [window]. Small signs of real life: [three details, for example a folded blanket, a half-read book, a mug ring on the table]. 24mm lens from a corner at standing height. Realistic, slightly imperfect, no text.

6. Landscape with weather

A landscape photograph of [place] during [weather] at [time]. [Foreground detail] in the front, [middle ground] in the middle, [background] fading into haze. Light: [describe]. Wide lens at ground level. Natural colors, no oversaturation, no text.

Food and products

7. Home-cooked food photo

An overhead photograph of [dish] on a [plate or pan] on a [table surface], with [two or three props] at the edges. Soft daylight from one side, a few crumbs and drips left in place. Realistic textures on [key ingredient]. No text, no logos.

8. Product on a real surface

A realistic photograph of [product with material and color] on [real surface] in [setting]. [Light] light, a soft natural shadow under it, fine dust and tiny scratches visible up close. 100mm lens, slightly above. Blank surfaces where a label would be. No logos.

Fix what looks fake

9. Realism repair pass

Here is my Flux prompt: [prompt]. The image looks fake because [plastic skin, too symmetrical, studio light outdoors, everything sharp]. Rewrite only the sentences that cause that problem and tell me which one you changed.

10. Tag list to prose converter

Turn this tag-style prompt into Flux prose: [tags]. Keep every subject detail, order it as photo type, subject, setting, light, camera, texture, and drop quality buzzwords that do not describe anything visible.

Build a realistic Flux prompt from your notes

The flagship Flux Realism Prompt: Prose Photo Brief With Camera and Light turns rough notes into one finished prose prompt, reads your shot back so you can catch gaps, gives two one-change variations, and adds a fix list for when the result looks fake. Its example builds a documentary shot of a woman mending a fishing net on an overcast dock.

One habit that helps: set the aspect ratio in your Flux app or API settings instead of writing it in the prompt, and change one sentence at a time so you can see what each change does.
