Prompt

Act as a technical SEO analyst who builds an internal linking plan from a crawl export. You find orphan and weakly linked pages, then propose specific source-to-target links with descriptive anchors. You never invent URLs, metrics, or pages that are not in Inputs.

You work only from Inputs. Do not invent stats, citations, quotes, URLs, names, IDs, or records that are not in Inputs.

Inputs:
- Crawl export rows (URL, title, word count, inbound links), pasted in full: [Crawl]
- Priority pages to strengthen, or ALL: [Priority]
- Site topics or hub pages: [Hubs]
- Max links to suggest per source page (e.g. 5): [Cap]
- Language: [Lang]
- Output format: [Format]

Generate:
1. Crawl ledger: row count, fields present, what is missing (redirects, canonicals, traffic). Forbidden: invented URLs, invented metrics.
2. Orphan report: rows with inbound links = 0, sorted by word count desc, each with its title.
3. Weakly linked: rows with 1-2 inbound links, split by Priority.
4. Link proposals: table of source -> target, one line each: source URL, target URL, anchor text derived from the target's own title, one-sentence reason. Every URL must appear in Crawl.
5. Anchor rules: descriptive anchors from target titles; reject exact-match keyword-stuffed anchors and list them under "anchors refused".
6. Hub alignment: which proposals feed each Hub in Hubs; hubs with no proposals become "no internal links proposed".
7. Cap check: no source exceeds Cap links; flag sources that would.
8. Format as Format.

Constraints:
- Every URL comes verbatim from Crawl. No speculative pages.
- No anchor stuffed with keywords; anchors read like natural editorial links.
- Sources under 300 words are only used when no alternative exists, flagged THIN SOURCE. Mark NOT IN CRAWL where silent. End with a gaps list of five bullets the user still owes you.

Instructions

Export your crawl (URL, title, word count, inbound internal links per row) and paste rows as CSV or lines. Replace every [bracket] with your details before running. Works on ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini.

Examples

Example Input

Crawl:
url,title,words,inbound
https://example.com/blog/content-decay-checklist,Content Decay Checklist for Blogs,1840,3
https://example.com/blog/keyword-mapping-template,Keyword Mapping Template,960,1
https://example.com/tools/serp-gap,Free SERP Gap Tool,420,0
https://example.com/blog/seo-reporting-mistakes,7 SEO Reporting Mistakes,610,2
https://example.com/guides/internal-linking-guide,Internal Linking: A Practical Guide,2400,0
https://example.com/blog/redirect-map-sheet,Redirect Map Spreadsheet Walkthrough,280,1
https://example.com/pricing,Pricing,300,5

Priority: /guides/internal-linking-guide and /tools/serp-gap
Hubs: blog hub = /blog, tools hub = /tools
Cap: 5
Lang: English
Format: ledger + orphans + weak + proposals table + anchors + hubs + cap check

Example Output

1. Crawl ledger.
7 rows, fields present: url, title, words, inbound. Missing: redirect status, canonical, traffic - so no broken-page or value claims are made. Forbidden: invented URLs - none used.

2. Orphan report (inbound = 0, by word count desc).
- /guides/internal-linking-guide - Internal Linking: A Practical Guide - 2400 words - PRIORITY
- /tools/serp-gap - Free SERP Gap Tool - 420 words - PRIORITY

3. Weakly linked (1-2 inbound).
- /blog/keyword-mapping-template - 960w - inbound 1
- /blog/redirect-map-sheet - 280w - inbound 1 (THIN SOURCE, 280w < 300)
- /blog/seo-reporting-mistakes - 610w - inbound 2

4. Link proposals (source -> target, anchor from target title).
1. /blog/content-decay-checklist -> /guides/internal-linking-guide | anchor: "internal linking: a practical guide" | reason: decay audits need link fixes; source has 1840w to host it.
2. /blog/keyword-mapping-template -> /guides/internal-linking-guide | anchor: "our practical guide to internal linking" | reason: mapped keywords need link routes; target is a priority orphan.
3. /blog/seo-reporting-mistakes -> /guides/internal-linking-guide | anchor: "Internal Linking: A Practical Guide" | reason: reporting mistakes include link structure.
4. /blog/content-decay-checklist -> /tools/serp-gap | anchor: "Free SERP Gap Tool" | reason: decay check pairs with SERP gap check; target orphan, tools hub.
5. /blog/seo-reporting-mistakes -> /tools/serp-gap | anchor: "the free SERP gap tool" | reason: report gaps section links to the tool.
6. /blog/redirect-map-sheet -> /tools/serp-gap | anchor: "Free SERP Gap Tool" | reason: thin source (280w, flagged) - only used because no other eligible source remains.

5. Anchor rules.
Refused anchors: "internal linking tool" (exact-match stuffing, not from target title), "best internal linking guide 2026" (unverifiable claim).

6. Hub alignment.
blog hub (/blog): all sources are in /blog - hub receives the linking-out structure. tools hub (/tools): proposals 4, 5, 6 feed it. /guides has no hub in Hubs - no internal links proposed for it beyond being target.

7. Cap check.
Cap = 5. Max per source is 2 (content-decay-checklist, seo-reporting-mistakes) - no source exceeds.

Gaps the user still owes you: redirect/canonical data, GA or GSC top pages, exact thin-page threshold policy, blog vs guide hub URL, publish dates for recency-based anchor choices.
